Pastor Vekemans Fund Sponsored Run

Sondervick College students take action for education in India

On Friday, October 10, a charity run for first-year students took place on the campus of Sondervick College. With this sporting event, the students raised money for the Pastoor Vekemans Fund, a foundation in Veldhoven that supports disadvantaged children in India. Thanks to their help, these children can receive an education, something that is unfortunately not a given there.

In the weeks leading up to the charity run, volunteers from the Pastoor Vekemans Fund visited the first-year students during class. They talked about their work and showed how education can make a huge difference in a child's life. This gave the students a clear picture of the cause they were supporting.

The students collected sponsors on their sponsor cards beforehand. During the charity run, they received a stamp for every lap they ran. The first-year students enthusiastically ran their laps to raise as much money as possible.

At the end of October, there was a festive moment when the students presented a check for€5,312 from
to representatives of the Pastoor Vekemans Fund.
