Mavo students present profile papers

Wednesday, Feb. 5, graduating mavo students presented their profile papers at a presentation market. Proud parents and other interested parties were treated to beautiful presentations of a variety of profile papers.

Everything comes together here
The profile paper is the largest piece of work a student makes during their secondary school career. They put all the skills they have learned into practice while making the profile paper. They choose their own topic, which makes for surprising angles. How does cell phone use affect your brain? How does a money measure actually work? Or how do you encourage reading among young people?

From research to practice
Many students used the Internet as a source. But a google search is not always enough. Interviews were also conducted and questionnaires sent. For example, students sent a questionnaire to the Maxima Children's Hospital in Utrecht and the Maxima Medisch Centrum Veldhoven to find out what the differences are between hospital care for adults and for children.

Creative presentations
The presentations were at least as creative as the topics themselves. Prototypes were built, leaflets and posters were designed. One group explored the role of AI in business-and even had an AI voice speak into their presentation! Still others surprised the audience with an interactive quiz on their topic.

More than just a school assignment
Making a profile paper is more than just doing research. Students learn to work together, connect with professionals and present their ideas. It is a taste of the real thing-and an experience they won't soon forget.

On behalf of all our students, we thank everyone who participated in some way in their profile paper.
