Two-year bridge class
We think it’s important that you quickly feel at home at our school and that you’re in the right place. That’s why we have two-year transition classes. There is a transition class for Kader/Mavo and a transition class for Mavo/Havo. In these so-called “roof-tile classes,” instruction is provided at both levels. Do you need a little extra explanation? You’ll get it. Ready for a bit more of a challenge? Then the teacher will provide more in-depth material. When it comes to testing, we take your level into account.
In your second year at Sondervick College, we’ll work with you and your parents to determine which program is the best fit for you. This gives you plenty of time to get used to high school.
Preparing for upper division
In the second year, you prepare for the superstructure. Will you go to mavo or havo? At the mavo you make a choice between a mixed learning pathway or a theoretical learning pathway. You do this through an orientation on the various practical squares.
Hands-on learning
No matter which track you choose, you’ll learn through hands-on experience with us. In the blended track, you’ll choose a practical profile. In the theoretical track, you’ll take the “Mavo in Practice” course. In this course, you’ll gain practical experience by completing real assignments for companies and organizations.

Mavo in Practice
In the theoretical course you will have the subject Mavo in Practice. In this subject you will work on projects.
Take the project 'Something tasty'. Here you and a group of classmates come up with a concept consisting of a tasty snack and a small experience. You calculate what it costs to make it, get to work in the kitchen and work out how you can cleverly promote your concept. Finally, you will present your idea to the client.
