Two-year bridge class
It is important to us that you quickly feel at home at our school and that you are in the right place. That is why we have two-year bridge classes. Did you receive a mavo recommendation at elementary school? Then you will enter the mavo/havo bridge class. This gives you ample time to get used to secondary education. In this so-called roof-top class, lessons are given at both levels. Do you need some extra explanation? Then you will get it. Just ready for some extra challenge? Then the teacher will provide in-depth material. During testing we take your level into account. In the second year at the Sondervick College we look, together with you and your parents, at which study program suits you best.
Preparing for upper division
In the second year, you prepare for the superstructure. Will you go to mavo or havo? At the mavo you make a choice between a mixed learning pathway or a theoretical learning pathway. You do this through an orientation on the various practical squares.
Hands-on learning
Whatever learning path you choose: with us you will engage in hands-on learning. For the mixed course you choose a practical profile. With the theoretical programme you choose the subject Mavo in Practice. In this course you gain practical experience with real assignments for companies and institutions.

Mavo in Practice
In the theoretical course you will have the subject Mavo in Practice. In this subject you will work on projects.
Take the project 'Something tasty'. Here you and a group of classmates come up with a concept consisting of a tasty snack and a small experience. You calculate what it costs to make it, get to work in the kitchen and work out how you can cleverly promote your concept. Finally, you will present your idea to the client.
Another example is a project together with the municipality of Veldhoven, in which you research safety in neighborhoods. You work with maps, develop spatial insight, present solutions and get to know professions in the field of safety and management.
