Students design game for Cordaad Welfare

How do you ensure that internationals and their buddies get to know each other and Veldhoven better through play? With that assignment from Cordaad Welzijn, students during the Havo in Practice lessons went to work within the design project "Design a Game for Internationals".

The assignment: Design an outdoor game for 20 to 25 players, entirely in English. Use at least one component from the 3D printer or laser cutter.
In groups, students went through all the stages of a real design process. From goal analysis and brainstorming to prototyping, testing and presenting. Presenting was on the program last Monday. Then, during a presentation market, the students presented their games to Marinka Lavrijssen of Cordaad Welzijn.

A strikingly well-developed game was "Coin Hunt," devised by Victoria, Sophie, Lize and Rowen. In this game, players search for coins in Veldhoven and along the way perform tasks that stimulate cooperation and encounters. Cordaad Welzijn chose this game to actually deploy in the coming period.
