Insect hotel unveiled

From 10 to 16 November it was National Climate Week. Municipality Veldhoven also participated and asked students of our school to design an insect hotel.

During our first-year students' engineering week, several groups worked on the design of this insect hotel. Second graders also received a lesson on bee mortality, the urgency of bees and suitable shelters after which they got to designing their own.

Janne, Jasper and Dieke's design came out on top. After all, their design was not only a hotel for bees, but also a hedgehog shelter for during their winter hibernation. Teachers Mr. Berkers and Mr. van den Broek then actually built the design.

Thursday afternoon, Nov. 13, the students were allowed to officially unveil the insect hotel together with Alderman Giesbertz. The insect hotel called "Bee & Bee 't Look" can be found on the Twijnder in 't Look.
