Two-year bridge class mavo/havo and havo/vwo
It is important to us that you feel at home in our school and that you are in the right place. That's why all our bridge classes are two-year classes. This gives you ample time to get used to secondary education. In this so-called roof-top class, classes are taught at both levels. Do you need some extra explanation? Then you will get it. Just ready for some extra challenge? Then the teacher will provide in-depth material. During testing, we take your level into account. In the second year at the Sondervick College we look, together with you and your parents, at which course is best for you.
Do you have a havo recommendation from the elementary school? Then you will start in the havo/vwo bridge class. Do you have a mavo/havo recommendation? Then you will start in the mavo/havo bridge class.

Bilingual education
Do you want to become a world citizen and look beyond borders? Then bilingual education (TTO) is just the thing for you!
At the Sondervick College you can choose bilingual education for the havo and vwo programs. Starting in the bridge class, you will take more than half of all subjects in English. By immersing yourself in the English language, you will quickly make the language your own.
Eye on the future and the world
At Sondervick College we educate our students to become global citizens. At our school you can orient yourself to the world around you. The location of our school in the Brainport region plays an important role in this. We pay extra attention to science subjects, robotics and new technological developments. In addition, we work together with companies and institutions in the region. Think of trips to Strijp-S, the TU/e, museums and companies.
In havo, you will also engage in science orientation. In these lessons you will be introduced to all kinds of aspects of scientific research. This begins as early as the bridge class.
Profiles
Starting in grade 4, you no longer take all subjects but a package of subjects.
A package consists of:
A common part for all students.
A profile part with some profile-specific subjects and electives.
The free space with one or two electives.
There is a choice of the following profile sections with the possibility of combining several profiles:
- C&M:culture and society
- E&M:economics and society
- N&G:nature and health
- N&T:nature and technology
- Combination C&M with E&M or N&G with N&T is also possible.

Havo in Practice
For havo students, cooperation is an important skill; it is preparation for the workplace. Collaboration comes to the fore in various projects, assignments and the profile paper.
At Sondervick College, all fourth-year students have Havo in Practice. During these classes you get to work on real practical assignments for clients from the region. For example, students have already made an assignment for the Prehistoric Museum and Cordaad Welzijn.
