Two-year bridge class vmbo elementary/framework
It is important to us that you quickly feel at home at our school and that you are in the right place. That is why the vmbo basis/kader bridge class is two-year. This gives you ample time to get used to secondary education. In this so-called roof-top class, classes are taught at both levels. Do you need some extra explanation? Then you will get it. Just ready for some extra challenge? Then the teacher will provide in-depth material. During testing we take your level into account. In the second year at the Sondervick College we look, together with you and your parents, at which study program suits you best.
Customized hours
Many students still need support in areas such as technical and reading comprehension, spelling and math. This is worked on during so-called customized hours.

Discovering your interests and abilities
In Years 1 and 2, in addition to your "regular subjects," of course, you work on discovering your interests and your own possibilities. Already in year 1 you will start working on orientation on professions, study directions and possible choices. This happens during the hours of mentor guidance and the subject PPO (Practical Profile Orientation).
In Year 2, you will take more hours of PPO and prepare for your profile choice for Year 3.
Practice squares
In grades 3 and 4, you take about half of your classes in a plaza. You take the other half of your classes in classrooms. Not only do you learn much more of a particular discipline, but you also learn to work together in projects. All students from one year of all levels, are working in the practical squares at the same time.
Gaining international experience
Because we think it is important that you have the opportunity to gain international experience, we organize various activities abroad. Like a trip to Berlin, Paris or survival in the Ardennes. Every year we look at which interesting projects or trips we can organize.
On to further study
After upper secondary school, most students move on to secondary school, which can be level 2, 3 or 4, depending on your level and results.
There is plenty of room to orient yourself to your subsequent studies. We do this by organizing excursions, visits to organizations and companies. In grade 3 our students run two weeks of work orientation and in grade 4 they run two weeks of subject orientation.
Profiles
In the second grade you choose one of our profiles that you will follow starting in the third year. For more information about how each square works and the subjects, click on the profile you are interested in.
