VWO in Practice
In the “VWO in Practice” program, students learn to apply their academic skills in real-world situations. They investigate issues, gather and analyze information, and work on assignments that reflect the real world. In doing so, they learn to think critically, collaborate, conduct research, and present their ideas clearly. This allows students to experience how they can apply their knowledge and skills outside the classroom and prepares them for their future education.
Sustainability
During the science orientation course, 4th-year VWO students conducted research on sustainability issues. They presented their research findings and recommendations at a presentation fair. The findings will be shared with the municipality of Veldhoven so they can be incorporated into future policy.
Topics such as waste separation came up frequently, but the climate in the schoolyard was also examined. The students came up with various proposals. For example, they recommend planting more trees to improve the climate and provide more shade in and around the schoolyard. They also propose an app to encourage young people to pick up trash through gamification.
