Laptop and office

At Sondervick College we use a laptop during classes. The cost of purchasing the laptop is borne by the parents. For this we work together with a supplier who can provide the laptop with warranty and service at a very favorable price. Do you prefer to buy your own laptop? Of course you may. However, the laptop must meet a number of criteria.

What are the system/software requirements of the laptop?

  • Internal memory: at least 8 GB of working memory
  • Hard disk: Minimum 64 GB storage space
  • Wi-Fi network: 802.11 g/n/ac wireless network adapter with 5 GHz frequency. The AC standard is recommended for optimal operation. We cannot support the B standard. So it is important to check with your supplier carefully.
  • Battery: Battery with an active life of at least 5.5 hours
  • Display: 11.6 - 15 inches
  • Operating system: Windows 11 version 22H2 or higher


    Students with profile BWI and PIE must have a laptop in year 3 with the following requirements:

  • Processor 64-bit, Intel or AMD
  • RAM memory: 8gb
  • 256 HDD/SSD
  • No Apple or Chromebook

    Office and Dyslexia Software are provided by Sondervick College. Otherwise, no paid software is required.

Rent or buy through The Rent Company

We have a partnership with The Rent Company. They offer laptops for rent or purchase, along with the Easy4u security package for service, warranty and damage and theft coverage. This ensures you have a working laptop in the classroom and don't have to worry about it.

What are the benefits of a laptop from The Rent Company?

  • If repaired, a loaner laptop is available at school.
  • The appropriate software is selected by us and is already installed on the laptop upon receipt.

To help you make your choice, you will find additional information and specifications in the webshop of The Rent Company. Order no later than July 31 to ensure delivery at the start of the new school year. This also avoids administrative costs of € 19.95.
