At Sondervick, we have two-year transition classes. That gives you time to figure out which level suits you best. Jasmijn was recommended for the mavo/havo track in elementary school. She is now in her third year of havo.

“When I was in 8th grade, I wanted to be a hairdresser or a teacher. At Sondervick, I saw the beautiful hands-on learning spaces. There’s even a real hair salon. I was so excited that I didn’t even bother looking at other schools.”

Every student follows their own learning path. That way, you learn in a way that suits you. Jasmijn: “In math class, for example, you have three different learning paths. Your current level determines which chapter you’ll start with.”

In Jasmijn’s case, it became clear fairly quickly that HAVO was a great fit for her. “That might also be because I was really ready for high school. For some of my classmates, though, it was actually nice that the first year lasted two years. They needed a little more time to get used to a new school and a new way of learning.”

Jasmijn now has a clearer idea of what she wants to be. “Since I’m in high school now, I think I’ll go for the PABO program after all. Then I’ll become a teacher at an elementary school.”
